The SMIS academic education program is based on the U.K. curriculum from years 1-8, leading to the study of the Cambridge International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) in years 9 and 10, followed by the AS and A level Cambridge certificates in years 11 and 12.
 
The IGCSE, AS and A level certificates are internationally recognised qualifications that can give students entrance into tertiary study in universities and colleges all over the world. The list of subjects offered at SMIS for the IGCSE (equivalent to junior certificate) is:
